The Mavic COMETE 55/65 carbon wheelset is designed for speed, thanks to a unique combination of aerodynamics, lightness, and rolling efficiency. The shallower front rim provides fast aero with and emphisis on confident control for precise handling.
The deeper rear rim is all about fast rolling while remaining light and responsive thanks to an Adaptive Layup carbon rim and Aero Carbon spokes. Thanks to numerous years of wind tunnel and real riding with embedded measures crossed testing, our engineers pushed the rim conception to a whole new level of Aero-Wide rim optimised for 30mm tyres.
The result: a wheel that is truly faster, in all wind conditions, from flat terrain to steep climbs and downhills.

Specific Mavic Adaptive Layup
The Mavic Comete 50 rivals the best wheels in still conditions, with a carbon weave optimised for the ideal balance of stiffness, weight and vibration absorption. As soon as the wind picks up, from around 10 km/h at a 10 to 20 degree incidence, the rim profile comes into its own and saves between 5 and 10 watts. Every fibre orientation has been tuned to meet the aerodynamic and mechanical demands of road racing.

The Adaptive Layup structure combines T700, T1000 and 3K fibres for the ideal balance of stiffness and dynamic behaviour, while 21 flat carbon spokes transmit every watt without loss and absorb road vibration for improved comfort and control. Mavic Ceramic bearings with ultimate control
Each component is validated on in-house machines capable of 57 different tests before a second round confirms the performance of the fully assembled wheel. Every detail of the hub has been redesigned for marginal gains: 40-tooth ratchets, optimised freewheeling spring, Mavic ceramic bearings, a more aerodynamic hub shell, lighter hub bodies and Locked-In Spoke Heads to stabilise spoke tension over time.
