We are looking for a hands-on Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our journey. You'll be a key part of the finance team, helping to shape our future by managing the company's payables and receivables. The Role

As an Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will be a key member of the finance team, responsible for the efficient and accurate management of both the company's payables and receivables. You will ensure the smooth flow of financial transactions by processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and managing collections. Your role is critical in maintaining healthy cash flow and fostering strong relationships with both suppliers and customers. You will leverage your high attention to detail and proactive attitude to support the finance department and contribute to the overall financial health of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately review, codes, and record all accounts payable transactions, ensuring they have the necessary approvals and comply with company policies to facilitate timely payments.
  • Proactively reconcile supplier statements against the purchase ledger, investigating and resolving any discrepancies or payment issues to maintain positive vendor relationships.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations, matching transactions and identifying any variances to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Manage the end-to-end accounts receivable cycle, which includes generating and sending invoices, posting payments, and following up on overdue accounts to ensure efficient cash flow.
  • Provide essential administrative support to the finance department, assisting with tasks such as filing, data entry, and correspondence to help maintain smooth operations.
  • Collaborate with the team on ad-hoc projects and tasks as required, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute beyond your core duties.

What We’re Looking For

  • You possess an exceptionally high attention to detail and have the ability to manage your workload independently, prioritising tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
  • You bring a positive, can-do attitude and a strong team spirit, actively collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
  • Experience using accounting software like Xero is preferred, as it will allow you to quickly integrate into our systems, but full training will be provided if required.
  • You possess strong communication and organisational skills, enabling you to interact professionally with both internal and external stakeholders and maintain a structured workflow.

Finance Manager – Growing Retail Business (Newly Qualified ACA/ACCA)

Location: Southampton, Hampshire

Hours: Full Time

Salary: £50,000 (DOE) + Benefits

99 Bikes UK is part of the Pedal Group, a leading bicycle retail group across Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. We are expanding rapidly in the UK and looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to help shape our journey.

The Role

You’ll be the Finance Lead in the UK, managing all financial operations and reporting, while working closely with the UK General Manager and Australian-based Head Office finance team.

This is a great opportunity for a newly qualified ACA/ACCA accountant looking to grow into a broader commercial leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations (AP, AR, payroll, VAT, cash management)
  • Lead monthly management reporting and financial analysis
  • Manage year-end audits and statutory reporting
  • Drive improvements in processes, automation, and scalability
  • Partner with operational teams to provide insights and support growth
  • Maintain accurate inventory and stock control reporting
  • Forecast cash flow and contribute to strategic planning

What We’re Looking For

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (recently qualified welcome)
  • Strong technical skills across reporting, controls, and month-end
  • Comfortable rolling up sleeves to “do” the work (this is hands-on)
  • A commercial thinker able to provide insights and challenge when needed
  • Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software (Xero preferred)
  • A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to grow with the business
